Todd has done two jobs for me recently: First was several documents' notarization and followed my house sale legal procedure. Todd always accommodates my schedule and needs. He responded promptly for every request. I got my notarized documents very fast since it was an urgent request. On my house sale, he explained every item very clearly to me and kept me updated for the closing day status until everything was done. His fee is reasonable and service is professional with courtesy. Worst lawyer ever. I always ask what stuff they needed and such and they always say they don't need any more documentation, yet everyday they call and say there is a new situation. They do not seem to have any idea on what they are doing. I can not believe how many good reviews this business has. DO NOT US THIS SERVICE> IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS OR EVEN A NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. BEWARE!!! If you use this company be prepared for massive headaches and unproper work etiquette.

During the process the paperwork was handled as would be expected for how much I paid, so I have nothing to bad to say in that regards. I wouldn't recommend him if you are the type of person who wants to understand everything that comes along with a contract for buying a house, but he was very efficient in finishing all the paperwork! I rated him a 2 because of the fact that my phone calls and emails were ignored for 3 days for issues concerning the contract that occured on the closing day and the following morning (which probably isn't a huge deal compared to other companies but before the closing day he would respond within the day or someone from his office would contact me). He finally got back to me after my real estate agent suggested I keep calling him until he picks up because it is an issue that needed to be resolved in a timely manner. Also he gave my personal cellphone number to the seller without asking my permission or letting me know, which I didn't think he was allowed to do. Overall, my purchase was okay and went through, but I wouldn't go back to this firm.

I purchased my first home with him, the whole process is fine. But the final price we paid is different from what we are told before. And the communication with him and his office is not that good. I am not sure where he is based until the closing date, he does not want to see you in person. and he can not provide you benefits until you told them. For example I am the first buyer, I can participate in the First Home Buyer Plan, but he does not mention it when preparing the document until I did the research by myself and tell him I can enroll that plan. I just came to Canada and I think it is better if he can ask his clients like 'are you the first buyer, if it is you can join that plan'. I really do not know why there are so many good reviews here.

We (my team and I) tried to consult Todd on his legal services. We didn't understand one of the contracts we wanted to use, so we asked Todd about it (NDA) to get a better understanding of which contracts we should be consulting him on (we thought we might need a Purchase Agreement or exclusivity agreement, so we asked which might fit). Upon requesting clarification, because we didn't understand his first response, he said left us a very short and passive aggressive message indicated we were wasting his time. After expressing how we were offended he said he has no worries losing our business. I've never experienced such hostility from someone offering a service.

Do NOT use this law firm. The lawyer and his assistants need to get on the same page. The lawyer will tell you to do one thing, the assistant will tell you to do something else completely. Information provided by this office may not be up-to-date with current laws and regulations; as such, the information may not be accurate. The lawyer will not represent your interest, he will bypass you to get the job done how ever it is easiest for him. By closing date, the City of Toronto still had no idea there was a change in ownership. It's been a nightmare. Todd, if you are reading this, you know well that it is not libel if the statement is based on facts and truth. If you use TDJ Law, congratulations, you have hired another lawyer for the opposite party.

I picked this law firm, based on the glorious reviews that they had but quickly realized that they are not reliable... The Communication and Customer Service at this law firm is very bad. The Admin staff is bad and as a law firm, they are unorganized and very incompetent. Depending on who you are talking to, you get different information and they keep asking the same questions over and over again and you constantly have to answer things that you’ve already told them. They don’t seem to understand very basic information or requests. They don’t know what they are doing and are not aware of timelines or how the real estate process works with all the other parties involved. I also never spoke to the lawyer until we had to sign the documents. I was sent the documents less than 24 hours before and was asked to review, print, sign and mail or drop the documents to them. The lawyer also “accidently” called us the day before we had to sign, thinking we were different clients and had a meeting with him... Anyways, considering that we are in a pandemic, they made the entire process very stressful and even more difficult than it should’ve been. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I will not be using them again and would not recommend this firm to anyone.

TDJ Law did an amazing job with our refinance and purchase. They were kind enough to take on our cases last minute and made sure to have everything finalized for both closing dates. They were upfront with their lawyer fees (which is a great value) and we were not surprised with any unexpected costs which we really appreciate. I am completely blown away at the level of service I received from TDJ Law. I am also impressed that the fee is so competitive considering the superior level of service being offered. Todd went through everything with me for my sale via phone call well in advance of closing day, and both Todd and Marina consistently went above and beyond. On closing day, when a last minute problem was introduced on the buyer's side, Marina kept me well-informed and completely stress-free. On top of that, instead of completing my transaction a day late (which would have been completely understandable in this instance since the delay was not within the control of TDJ Law), Todd still managed to close my mortgage and deposit my funds just in time before the bank closed, and completed all other miscellaneous items ON closing day! The last email I received from him on closing day was at 10:43pm, which left me speechless because I’m pretty sure any other lawyer would have simply left it until the next day and said to themselves that they’ll get to it when they get to it. It’s evident that TDJ Law takes a lot of pride in earning and keeping its clients’ business. I will absolutely choose TDJ Law again in the future.

I bought my property remotely with the help of Todd. Believe it or not, I entered my current property the first time on the closing date since I was more than 2000 kilometers away from my property. Todd had everything organized perfectly. I exchanged emails with his team and always received replies promptly. When it was time to sign the documents, Todd called me and provided explanations patiently. Due to the mortgage agent's busy schedule, there was a very short time window for Todd and his team to finish the procedures. However, they managed to complete everything in time and I could move into my property as scheduled. What I specially appreciate is that their unwavering commitment to providing me with services of good quality, although the whole process took much longer than usual. The reason was that the seller was unwilling to have the house foundation repaired by himself, but agreed to have some funds withheld with Todd to pay the repair costs. So I hired a foundation repair company and later a tree removal company, which involved several payments at different time. Todd and his assistants patiently made all payments. I would strongly recommend Todd if you are looking for an affordable lawyer with high quality services. If I buy another property, I would work with Todd again.
